Generations of residents enjoyed a deer park which was located at this location. Residents could observe and feed deer in their natural habitat. There were later experiments with maintaining goats in the park. A series of events led to the termination of the deer park in the 1990's. One of those events was the southern part of the park gradually turning to marshland.
